How we collect, use, and protect the personal information of players, referees, members, and anyone who contacts us.
This policy explains how Refs Inc collects, uses, and protects the personal information of players, referees, members, field operators, and anyone who contacts us. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles as our standard for handling personal information.
We only collect information we genuinely need to run events and the organisation. That typically includes:
We use personal information to run events, maintain team and player records and the national ladder, train and pay referees, respond to enquiries, and meet our legal and safety obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to running paintball without asking you first.
We share personal information only where it is necessary to run an event, for example providing a field operator with the team list for their tournament, or where we are required to by law. Results and team standings that appear on the national ladder are, by their nature, public.
We take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure and to protect it from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us at hello@refsinc.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a question or a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us at hello@refsinc.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
